Leadership Nuggets Series
I have had the great fortune to be influenced and mentored by a lot of great leaders. Through these men and women I have seen/experienced several different approaches to leadership.
Growing up as an athlete I heard pre-game speeches, halftime “chalk talks” and post-game motivationals in aim to pump us up for another week of practice. After 16+ years of this consistent rhetoric, I am especially susceptible to this type of motivational speeches and quotes.
In this series, I will detail a few of my favorite nuggets I have read about or experienced either as an athlete or in my life as a #DeskJockey.

Failure or achieving versions of success are a part of life. Improving on those efforts or learning how you could be better next time is seen as optional. Be open to: improvement. Learning/ understanding someone else’s viewpoint. Getting better.

When you are doing the right things with the right level of effort and the results are sporadically coming in, just keep swinging.
You learn everything you need to know in kindergarten, not true but Dr. Seuss does know what he is talking about. More learning = More productive.
How about them Cubs?! Joe Maddon's quirky leadership style appeals to my quirky side. The managers adage applied beyond the dugout and if applied to your life/job can have some awesome results.
