"Sh*t" on My Car - Planting the Seed

This post is part of a multi week series entitled shit on my car. Check out the whole story here!

In September 2015, I read an article about Wrapify and the success they were having out on the west coast. From that point on, I was smitten with the idea of turning my car into a revenue producing machine.

At that point, I was just over a year into my new role as a Marketing Technologist at Life Fitness. Headquartered in Rosemont, the newness of my 20 mile round trip commute (up to 1.5 hours in the car each day) had worn off. Making money while I plodded along somehow made me think the drive would feel less like a waste of time.

So I brought up the possibility to my wife, Amy (the true decision maker). We had fun playing out scenarios/companies which we would hypothetically be OK with wrapping the car. It was very much a game of extremes and almost turned into a game of "would you rather...".

We did rule out some of the suspects which might immediately come to mind (I'll let you imagine). However, we felt open to most anything. We did identify that there was a line that the company could not stand for something we did not believe in. In the end, we agreed that there was a joint decision to be made once the advertiser and artwork was revealed.

Quote of the week: "You are going to have to be ok with people looking at your car."
