Open letter to Weber - Hire me as your micro-influencer

Influencer marketing is a hot trend. In fact data shows, 65% of marketers indicated that they were planning to increase in their Influencer marketing budget in 2019, while only 35% indicated that thier marketing budget overall was increasing.

Thus influencer marketing is outpacing spending growth for other marketing categories.

Knowing the difference between influence and reach

As the saying goes, Taylor Swift has a lot of followers but when she says something it may or may not influence my actions. My wife, on the other hand, has far fewer followers but what she says goes. Taylor's reach is larger however my wife has a larger influence on me.

My open letter to Weber below is not a plea that I am the Taylor Swift of smoking meats but rather I just may have a network that could be influenced by my endorsement/content.

My wife and (hopefully soon) I are not the only micro-influencers out there. 98 percent of the online content mentioning brands is from non-paid micro-influencers.

The kicker and why I think this deal will be mutualy beneficial for both Weber and me, *micro-influencers are 3x more effective at a significantly reduced cost* when compared to traditional influencers.

3X more effective...

Weber I am your target market. Amateur pitmaster, upgrading from my first smoker, with a little disposable income.

Please allow me but almost more importantly please allow yourself the opportunity to have me as your slightly compensated micro- influencer.

Open letter

Hello- I hope this message finds you doing well and that it can find its way to the right person.

I am a marketing leader in the medical device industry but my part-time passion is as an amateur pitmaster. I don’t compete in any contests, run a pop-up restaurant or anything cool like that but my dedication to the craft is pretty decent. Thus I would like to propose a quid-pro-quo.

I produce some quality user generated content about my exploration of what the smokfire series smoker can do in exchange for you giving me the pleasure of doing it on the smokehouse EX6.

I know the product officially launched this past Monday and so you probably have your hand full with launch activities but I would ask you to look 3-6 months from now. How great would a fantastic source of UGC be to market the product headed into the spring/summer months?

I’m also open to other ideas but essentially I would like to receive your new smoker in exchange for some honest user generated content produced by a marketer and every day amateur pitmaster.

This content will be cheaper than paying a professional spokesperson and in my humble opinion, resonate more with the amateur pit-master who is going to purchase your product.

I live in South Bend, IN so I would be willing to swing by Palatine to come pick up the smoker.

Please let me know!

Thanks,
Jeff
