The 10X Rule

As with most “self help” books, Grant Cardone, the author of “The 10X Rule” is a bit braggadocios, but I did like this one because it gave more than the typical pep talk of “just do it”, “rise and grind”, etc.

Now don’t get it wrong, Grant did not disappoint in this reguard but it went a step further. He tells you in the title exactly how hard you are going to have to work to achieve extraordinary results. 10X.

“The 10X Rule” doesn’t just say your are going to have to work hard. He explains, you are going to have to “rise and grind” 10 times as hard. You are going to have to “just do it” 10 times as often.

I finished this book about a two months before I rolled into the delivery date for a big project at work.

Attempting to apply the concepts of the book to my life, I set my alarm 1 hour earlier. I have used this time to accomplish time sensitive tasks that require deep thinking and/or prolonged attention to a task. To get my workout in where the day’s events were going to prevent it from happening otherwise.

Another way I have tried to apply the concepts is a daily reflection on a principle from the book’s 32 characteristics of people that deliver extraordinary results.

I have found that writing out the principle on a notecard really helps give me an extra “ompf” when the challenges of the day arise. I tape this note card to one of my monitors.

Grant- Thanks for the time and effort that went into the book!
