One Liners - Bricks + Clicks | Impact on Banking
I love the intersection of 'Bricks and Clicks' here. I remember as a kid, the joy, the satisfaction I got from going to the bank depositing the money I earned from hard manual labor, mowing lawns. It is sad to think that my future kinds will most likely never have this feeling.
By the time they set up their childhood business, they will be accepting payment via QuickPay, Venmo, Bitcoin or some other technology which doesn't exist yet!
With direct deposit, mobile check cashing, quick pay, automated bill pay, ubiquitous acceptance of credit, the only time I go into a bank is for issues which customer support over the phone has a hard time handling.
Interesting to see that nearly all bankers are looking to evolve the role physical bank. I will say that I am comfortable conducting most of my banking via app or phone call but it will be interesting to see how banks evolve to avoid the fate of bookstores.
Also super proud that my former employer, KPMG was driving this research!
