"Sh*t" on My Car - Words for Potential Wrapify Drivers

Through Wrapify, an advertising platform connecting drivers and brands to create powerful on-vehicle advertising, my car was wrapped with advertisements for a Chicago shared office space company, Make Offices from mid-May to early August.

Via my blog series “Shit” on my Car I chronicled the driver experience. Below are a few words for those thinking about becoming a Wrapify driver…

To make $$...you have to turn on the app.

While this is common sense, more than a handful of days I forgot to turn on the app to track my miles until I was about half way to/from work. I resorted to post-it notes in the car to help remind me to turn on the app when I got in the car. Ideally, the app would have some type of notification to remind you to turn on the app when you leave your house.

If you are in it solely for the $$, it's not for you

Money is a great motivator...however even when you do remember to consistently turn on the app, the money earned is not life changing. Not to mention, Uncle Sam gets his cut. So don't expect a large infusion of cash.

If you don't like telling a story, it's not for you.
Most will assume you own or work for the company’s ads you are sporting on your ride.

Family, friends, Co-workers, and strangers will ask “what is up with the ads on the side of your car?”

If you aren't comfortable walking people back from that or explaining you didn't design the art on the side of your car, I'd stay away…

One such conversation occurred with a police officer at a sobriety check point, my wife and I had the pleasure of explaining that “no we don't own the company being advertised on the side of our car”. However, the Wrapify concept did make for a nice side topic of conversation with the officer.

If these things don't bother, you do it!
