Why Microsoft Teams is Falling Behind and Pulling Your Organization Down with It: The Risks of Sticking with an Ineffective Solution

Microsoft Teams is a popular platform for communication and collaboration, but I’d argue that it fails to meet the needs of today's evolving workforce. In my humble opinion, its main flaw:

it's built for internal teams, It is rediculously difficult to add outsiders to your organization, which could only be categorized by, new favorite term, "organizational thrashing."

In contrast, Slack is designed to connect people from inside and outside your organization with ease. Depending on your access level, it takes five clicks or less to add someone from outside your organization to your workspace, making it a more attractive solution for the modern workforce. With the rise of freelancers, consultants, and remote work, it's becoming more and more important to have a solution that can support this new way of working.

Using Slack, or just not using teams = a quantifiable advantage

I feel so strongly that the limitations inherent in Microsoft Teams put companies at a disadvantage that use this as their primary collaboration/communication tool.

An index fund made up of companies that use Slack as their primary communication and collaboration tool would by default avoid this “thrashing” at the start of each external engagement or each coordination point and thus be in an advantageous position when compared to their Teams counterparts. So if all other analysis doesn’t net out in a clear winner, ask the company which collaboration tool they use.

Sincerely, someone who has to manage communication with internal and external parties.
