Time Out - See you in 2018
20 months, 62 posts, and 4,600 unique visitors. I don't know if you would call DeskJockeyChronicles a raving success but as you may have noticed my posts of been less frequently starting in June of 2017.
In 2017, I have been blessed with so many great opportunities both personally and professionally. As a result, the blog has been pushed to the back burner. Well more like it has fallen off the back of the stove.
As a result of these opportunities, for at least the remainder of 2017, I am not committing to adding any new content.
I may provide an update here or there on the projects detailed below but the hours each week which I devoted to DeskJockeyChronicles will be reallocated to these projects.
Between now and 2018, I will be tackling a few new and exciting projects.
At work, we have some exciting projects kicking off. We are launching a few new brand sites which will eventually represent our (Life Fitness) awesome brands and products across the globe. We are building out our analytics capabilities to better attribute our marketing efforts to bottom line revenue, and continuing to innovate/evolve our digital tools to support our sales team and in person events.
Personally, Amy and I are settling our new home and establishing ourselves in our new town.
I have also taken a position on the board of my old high school, Sacred Heart-Griffin. I am unsure of the time commitment to prove myself worthy of this opportunity but I want to ensure I have the time to reinvest in an organization that provided me with so many foundational skills.
In that murky middle ground between personal and professional, I am investing in my own learning and career advancement. I will be earning my six sigma green belt, studying for and taking the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and increasing my focused leisure reading.
And lastly and maybe most importantly, I will be making a concerted effort to have more fun! It is not that I did not have fun while doing the blog but as they “it's about the journey” and I will be experiencing the journey.
Talk to you soon!
Jeff
